Over 2.5 (-250), Under 2.5 (+200)
Bayern Munich is hosting Borussia Dortmund to Allianz Arena in a derby match of round 11 of German Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich has been through a lot since the last weekend and their shocking loss against Eintracht. In that game, Bayern had 61% of ball possession, only 3 shots on goal, 0 corner kicks, and 85% of correct passes. Bayern got demolished in this match 5-1. This loss has escalated on Sunday morning when coach Kovac offered his resignation and Bayern's president has accepted it. There has been a lot of rumors even before this loss that players are against Kovac and that Bayern is playing bad soccer but I don't think that Kovac deserved to be fired because he won 2 titles last season and despite this loss, Bayern is still the best team in Bundesliga. Bayern had a Champions League match earlier this week Olympiacos which they won 2-0, but the result could have been a lot higher if Bayern's strikers had more concentration. Lewandowski is the best striker in the world right now and has scored at least 1 goal in every game Bayern has played this season. In Bundesliga, Lewandowski has 14 goals in 10 games. Hernandez and Sule are two important defenders for Bayern but they are both injured and will not be playing. Hans-Dieter Flick is the interim coach in Bayern until management decides who will be the new head coach. Some of the main candidates are Wenger and Allegri. Bayern bounced back nicely after last weekend's disaster and will do everything in their power to win this weekend and to stay at the top of Bundesliga.
Borussia has finally gained some stability on the defensive end and hasn't lost any of their last 4 games while scoring 8 goals and conceding 3 goals during that stretch. In their last Bundesliga match against Wolfsburg, Borussia was dominant with 64% of ball possession, 8 shots on goal, 7 corner kicks, and 85% of correct passes. With 3 goals in the second half by Hazard, Guerreiro and Gotze Borussia have won this match 3-0. Dortmund has also had a Champions League match against Inter at home and after losing 0-2 at the half-time, Borussia was able to turn it around and has won this match 3-2. Alcacer and Reus have both scored 5 goals each for Borussia, while Sancho added 3 goals and 5 assists. Borussia Dortmund is playing good and fun soccer and is forcing most of their opponents to defend on their half. Attacking firepower that Borussia has is amazing with players like Reus, Alcacer, Sancho, Hazard and Gotze, but what is more important for this team is that they are finally getting some consistency on the defensive end, and if coach Favre will be able to sustain that level of consistency I believe that Borussia is capable of taking the Bundesliga title from Bayern's hands.
The last 7 games when Bayern was the home team against Borussia Dortmund ended with at least 3 goals while Borussia failed to score a goal in the last 2 matches when Bayern was the home team. Both teams have played in the Champions League earlier this week, and both teams are playing great attacking soccer and for that reason, I will pick something on goals here.
