Bournemouth is hosting Manchester United at Vitality Stadium in round 11 of the English Premier League.
Bournemouth hasn’t won any of their last 5 games and is the 9th place in the standings with 13 points, 13 scored goals and 13 conceded goals. Considering how bad Bournemouth is playing at the moment, 9th place is a pretty good result for this team. In their last match against Watford, Bournemouth has had 60% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 10 corner kicks, and 83% of correct passes. Bournemouth was the better team in this match, especially on the defensive end where they allowed only 3 shots on goal, but on the offensive end, Bournemouth lacked focus and the game ended in a 0-0 draw. Callum Wilson is the leading goalscorer for Bournemouth with 5 goals, while Wilson added 3 goals. Brooks, Gosling, Stanislas, and Daniels are all injured and will not be playing in this match. Bournemouth has had a rough month and only thanks to other teams not winning their matches Bournemouth is this high in the standings. Bournemouth has some good players like King, Wilson, Fraser and Solanke and a solid young coach in Eddie Howe but they lack consistency and that is the main reason why I don't think Bournemouth will end up in the top 10 this season.
Manchester United has been bad and sloppy for most of this early season but seems to be catching a good form now. In their last match against Norwich in the EPL, Manchester was fantastic with 54% of ball possession, 11 shots on goal, 10 corner kicks, and 85% of correct passes. With solid and compact defense and a good offense, United has won this match 1-3 and has won important 3 points to stay in the race for one of the top 4 positions. Rashford is United's top goalscorer with 5 goals, followed by Martial and James with 3 goals. There is still a lot of injuries in Manchester United and some strong players like Bailly, Pogba, and Shaw who could all make a difference will not be playing in this match. United has scored only 13 goals this season and for a team with that kind of offensive firepower that is not enough. Solskjaer has been doing a great job when he was hired as a head coach last season but as the season was coming to an end so were Manchester's good games. This season wasn't any different and it started the same way the last one ended, really bad. In Europa League, Manchester is doing good and is at the top of their group. United is playing and EFL Cup match earlier this week against Chelsea and with all the injuries there is a potential problem of fatigue for Manchester United but I expect that Solskjaer will give the opportunity to some players that are playing less in this cup match.
Bournemouth has won only 1 of 8 matches against United and that was back in 2015. Bournemouth is playing in a bad form and Manchester isn't much better but they are in a slightly better form and the odds are solid so I will side with Manchester here.
