Over 2.5 (-275), Under 2.5 (+220)
Barcelona is hosting Real Valladolid at Camp Nou in round 11 of Spanish LaLiga.
Barcelona was struggling in the first few games of the new season but is now in a good form and firing on all cylinders. With 19 points, 23 scored goals and 10 conceded goals, Barcelona is in the second place of the standings with 1 point less than Granada who is at the top. Barcelona has lost only 1 of their last 11 games and that was against Granada back in September. In their last LaLiga match against Eibar, Barcelona was great with 57% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, and 84% of correct passes. Barcelona was in control of this game and has won 0-3 with goals from all of their strikers Messi, Suarez, and Griezman. Barcelona has a lot of quality in every position and more importantly has a lot of depth on the bench to endure this long season and all the competitions they play in. Luis Suarez is the leading goalscorer for Barcelona with 5 goals, followed by Griezman with 4 goals while Messi has only 2 goals because he was injured for the first few games of the season. Roberto, Umtiti, and Busquets are all listed as questionable for this match and even though they might be in the roster for this game, I don't expect them to be in the starting lineup. Barcelona is playing nice soccer with a lot of short passes and fast plays and high ball possession allows them to stay in control against any opponent. In my opinion, Barcelona is the main favorite for the LaLiga title and one of the top 3 favorites for the Champions League, but they will need to sign another high-quality defender in the winter transfer window.
Valladolid has been playing in a solid form as of late and hasn’t lost any of their last 6 matches. Valladolid is in the 9th place in the standings with 14 points, but only 10 scored goals in 10 games and only 9 conceded goals. In their last LaLiga match against Eibar, Valladolid was focused on defending and has had only 35% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 4 corner kicks, and only 62% of correct passes. Even though Valladolid's offense scored 2 goals, their defense was fantastic and because of that Valladolid has won this match 2-0. Guardiola and Plano have both scored 3 goals for Valladolid and are the leading goalscorers for this club. Sandro Ramirez is the only injured player for Valladolid and coach Sergio will not have him at his disposal. Valladolid is playing good right now, but the question is how long can they keep it up and stay consistent in this long season. Valladolid has already played once against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid this season and managed to win a point in both of those games, and I know that usually teams like Valladolid play their best games against the top teams but Barcelona is playing better and more offensive soccer than Real and Atletico. I do believe that Valladolid will stay outside the relegation zone but I don't think they have the quality and depth to stay consistent and to stay in the top 10 in LaLiga.
Barcelona is on a roll and has the rest advantage because their LaLiga game against Real Madrid was postponed this past weekend. I see Barcelona winning this match with at least 3 scored goals.
