Over 2.5 (-455), Under 2.5 (+300)
Manchester City is welcoming Aston Villa to Etihad Stadium in part of roun10 of the English Premier League.
Manchester City is playing great soccer and has demolished Atalanta in the Champions League this week 5-1 at home. City has lost only 1 of their last 8 matches and has conceded only 4 goals during that stretch. In the EPL City is 2nd in the standings with 19 points, 6 points less the Liverpool in the top. In their last EPL match against Crystal Palace, Manchester City was playing their usual high possession game and they had the ball in their feet for 72% of the time, 10 shots on goal, 8 corner kicks, and 87% of correct passes. City was playing good on both ends of the field and has won 0-2 with goals from David Silva and Gabriel Jesus. Aguero has scored 8 goals in 8 games for the Citizens while Sterling has 6 goals. De Bruyne has 8 assists and is proving week in and week out that he is one of the best midfielders in the world. Sane and Laporte are only 2 injured players for Manchester City and coach Guardiola will finally have most of his players at his disposal. Manchester City and Liverpool and two best teams in the EPL and they will compete for the title until the very last game, but at the moment City is playing better soccer then Liverpool and if they stay healthy they could finally leave a mark in the Champions League as well.
Aston Villa is an average EPL team that will most likely end up in the bottom 8 in the standings. Villa is on a 4 game streak without a loss and has scored at least 2 goals in each of those 4 matches. In their last game against Brighton, Aston Villa had a solid game with 48% of ball possession, 8 shots on goal, 7 corner kicks, and 84% of correct passes. Aston Villa was able to win this game 2-1 with a goal in the last minute of the match. Aston Villa is 12th in the standings at the moment and has scored 15 goals while conceding 13 goals in 9 matches. Wesley is the leading goal scorer for Aston Villa with 4 goals while McGinnhas 3 goals. El Ghazi and Grealish both added 3 assists in this early season. Chester, Kodjoa, and Jota are all injured and will not be in the lineup for this game. Aston Villa is a solid team and coach Dean Smith is doing a fantastic job but I don't think Aston Villa can stay on this level for much longer. Villa has some great players but they are not playing overly attractive soccer and I don't see them scoring over 35 goals in the season. Don't get me wrong, Aston Villa will win some more games and is always a threat to the best teams in the EPL, but consistency is important in the EPL and that is something Aston Vill will run out of pretty soon.
Manchester City has scored at least 3 goals in 9 out of 10 last home games against Aston Villa and give their current attacking form I see this trend continuing here as well. Aston Villa is mostly the home team, especially against the favorites and I just don't see them being the threat here despite City playing the Champions League this week as well.
