Over 2.5 (-175), Under 2.5 (+137)
Lecce is welcoming Juventus to Vial del Mare stadium in part of round 9 of Italian Serie A.
Lecce is one of the weakest teams in Serie A, but even as weak as they are, Lecce was able to win a point in a 2-2 draw against Milan last weekend. In that match was defending the entire match and has had only 36% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, and 72% of correct passes. Lecce was losing twice in this game just to get back in 92nd minute by a goal from Calderoni. Lecce is 16th in the standings with only 7 points from 8 games and has scored only 9 goals while conceding 17 goals. Lecce is one of the worst defensive teams in Serie A and I believe they will concede at least 50 goals this season. Mancosu is the leading goalscorer for Lecce with 4 goals while Calderoni added 2 goals. Imbula is the only injured player and will not be in the lineup for this match. Lecce was promoted to Serie A this season and I don't think they will stay here next season simply because they don't have enough quality, depth, or consistency to compete with the rest of the teams. There is not much that coach Liverani can do about this situation except maybe prepare his team to have a little bit more consistency on the defensive end which could bring them a few points against teams that are not in the top 8 in the Serie A.
Juventus is the best team in Italy and even though their focus is on the Champions League, Juventus is at the top of Serie A without a loss. Juventus played a Champions League match earlier this week against Lokomotiv Moscow and was losing 0-1 until 77th minute when Dybala scored 2 goals in three minutes and Juventus won this game 2-1. In their last Serie A match against Bologna, Juventus was good with 64% of ball possession, 10 shots on goal, 8 corner kicks, and 89% of correct passes and with goals from Ronaldo and Pjanic, Juventus has won this game 2-1. Cristiano Ronaldo is the leading goalscorer in Juventus with 4 goals while Pjanic added 3 goals. Chiellini is out with torn ACL while Pjaca is close to the return after his knee injury. Costa, Ramsey and De Sciglio are all listed as questionable. Juventus has scored 15 goals in 8 matches in Serie A which is solid considering neither striker is in form for Juventus and that is something coach Sarri has to deal with really fast. Juventus is playing some good soccer on both ends and is still unbeaten in both Serie A and Champions League, and for now, Juventus looks unstoppable. Juventus is an experienced team led by Ronaldo and young De Light on the defensive end but neither of them is yet in good form and some mistakes have happened. It's only a matter of time before Sarri makes the right move and his players finally awake and when that happens, Juventus will be a force to reckon with.
Sure, Lecce did win a point in Milan last weekend, but Juventus is at least 2 steps above Milan. Even with the Champions League match earlier this week I see a blowout victory for Juventus here.
