Over 2.5 (-138), Under 2.5 (+110)
Milan is hosting Lecce at San Siro in part of round 8 of Italian Serie A.
Milan is a disaster this season and the coach Marco Giampaolo who was supposed to bring them back to life turned out to be a big miss and was fired after their last match against Genoa. In that game, Milan had 50% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 0 corner kicks, and 84% of correct passes. Milan did win this match 1-2 but only by pure luck because Genoa missed a penalty kick in the last minute of the game. Milan has only 9 points from the first 7 games and has scored only 6 goals while conceding 9 goals. Piatek is the leading goalscorer for Milan with only 2 goals which is showing us just how bad Milan is. There is no player on this team that is playing in good form and new head coach Stefano Pioli has a tough task on his hands. I don't think that Pioli is the right choice for this team and I think he will get fired before the season ends. Caldara and Castillejo are both injured while Calabria has a red card suspension and will not be in the lineup. This coaching change may bring a positive shock to this Milan's team, but that can't last and Milan's management should open the wallet and bring a better coach who can do something with players he has, I hear Mourinho is available.
Lecce is the newcomer to Serie A and is one of the worst teams in the league who will be fighting to stay in the Serie A. With 6 points, 7 scored goals, and 15 concede goals, Lecce is in 18th place in the standings. In their last match against Atalanta, Lecce was forced to defend and has had 43% of ball possession, 2 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, and 80% of correct passes. Lecce has lost this game 3-1. There is only 1 injured player in Lecce's team and that is Giannelli Imbula, a solid midfielder who will certainly be missed in this match. Lecce has minimum chances to stay in Serie A next season as well and that is not coach Fabio Liverani's fault because clubs management hasn't done anything to sign new players and make this team a little bit more competitive. Mancosu is the top goal scorer for Lecce with 4 goals while Farias, Calderoni, and Lucioni have all scored 1 goal. Lecce doesn't have a signature game style because they simply don't have the quality and will be forced to defend against most of the teams in Serie A. Of course, good games throughout the season will happen and Lecce will get some wins but I think they will be inconsistent and every other team in the league will be the favorite against Lecce, even the weaker teams like Sampdoria, Genoa, and Spal.
Milan is the better team here without a doubt and I think they will finally wake up even if that were for one or two games. We are yet to see how will Milan look under the new coaching staff but I will take a stab at Milan here.
