Eibar vs. Barcelona 10/19/19 Spanish LaLiga Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction
Over 2.5 (-188), Under 2.5 (+150)
Eibar is welcoming Barcelona in round 9 of Spanish LaLiga.
Eibar is a solid team who is on 14th place in the standings with 9 points, 10 scored goals and 10 conceded goals. Eibar has won only 2 of their last 9 matches and their defense has been really bad since the season started. In their last match against Real Betis, Eibar had 43% of ball possession, only 2 shots on goal, 9 corner kicks, and low 68% of correct passes. Eibar had the lead until 66th minute when Moron scored for 1-1 and that was the final result of this game. Fabian Orellana is the best player and top goal scorer of this Eibar team with 3 goals and 2 assists and is expected to lead Eibar in this match as well. Correa, Angel, and Burgos are injured and coach Mendilibar will not have them at his disposal. Eibar doesn’t play overly attractive soccer and will be forced to defend against most of the opponents in LaLiga this season because they don’t have enough depth or quality. I don’t think Eibar will end up any higher then the 14th place they are at right now, instead i think they will be close to the relegation zone scrapping for points against teams like Alaves, Mallorca, and Leganes.
Barcelona is probably the best team in LaLiga and Europe and has scored 20 goals in the first 8 matches in LaLiga. Barcelona is in second place at the moment with 16 points, 2 points less then Real Madrid. Barcelona has already lost 2 games in this early season, and the only reason why they are still close to Real Madrid is because Real Madrid is playing crappy soccer and has 3 draws already. In their last match against Sevilla, Barcelona was great with 55% of ball possession, 8 shots on goal, 7 corner kicks, and 89% of correct passes. Barcelona was dominating the whole match and with goals from Suarez, Vidal, Dembele, and Messi, Barcelona has won 4-0. Suarez has scored 4 goals, while Griezman has 3 goals. Umtiti, and Firpo are voth injured while Dembele and Araujo have red cards and will not be in the lineup. Barcelona seems to be getting in shape and their defense is gaining some consistency. More important for Barcelona is that Lionel Messi is no longer injured and is slowly catching his goal scoring form and will be ready for this match and Champions League match next week. Barcelona hasn’t lost any of their last 4 matches and it might be another week or two before they start playing their usual game with a lot of short passes and high off ball pressure. Now when Messi is back in the lineup, Griezman is finally adjusting his game and is only a matter of time before he starts scoring and assisting more. Coach Valverde had a lot of problems at the start of the season with some players like Rakitic and Arthur who were not satisfied with their minutes, and then both of their left backs got injured and the agony continued. A lot of those problems have been dealt with and the atmosphere is getting better in Barcelona which means better days and better games are coming.
Barcelona hasn’t lost any of their 10 matches against Eibar and i see this trend continuing here as well.
