MIDDAY NFL TOP PLAY #2
Dallas Cowboys (2-6) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (7-0)

Yeesh. The Dallas Cowboys are an absolute mess and I’m not sure throwing Garrett Gilbert in for his first career NFL start is going to work well, especially against the 7-0 Pittsburgh Steelers. I mean Ben DiNucci struggled and even though he’s a rookie, he still had major issues against the Eagles and now look where he is. Gilbert’s had a few years on the sidelines, but still, playing this Steeler team in this spot? No bueno. Dallas has just 7.3 points and 250.3 yards per game over their last three games and even with a healthy Dak Prescott, this Cowboys team would’ve been hard pressed to make the playoffs with that horrendous defense. Backing a road favorite like this feels dicey at times, but Dallas is coming off of that 14-point loss to the Eagles that I mentioned, a 22-point loss to a 2-5 Washington team and a 38-10 beatdown loss to Arizona the week before. Double0digit favorites are covering over 61% since the start of 2015, including a clip over 63% when laying at least 13 points. Pittsburgh fits all of those molds, including the favorite role where the Steelers are 5-1 ATS this season. I’ll lay the points with Pittsburgh in what should be a comfortable victory.
