Seattle Mariners (29-37) vs Los Angeles Angels (31-36)

I get the case to be made for the Angels in certain spots as this is still a team with a solid batting order with Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani and others. However, The Angels had to use a lot of relievers in Saturday’s double-header, likely putting a heavy strain on Kenny Rosenborg as Sunday’s starter, and the fact that Rosenborg’s the starter tells you all you need to know about the usage of the Angel bullpen on Saturday. Logan Gilbert goes for the Mariners here and while he's been super streaky, he’s on a roll right now and the Mariners are 25-12 as a team in Gilbert’s 37 career starts, with a 9-4 record this year and the Mariners as a team have won all three of Gilbert’s starts against the Angels. In the Mariners winning his last four starts, Gilbert’s compiled a personal 3-0 record with a 1.44 ERA and a 2.18 FIP, indicating he’s pitching almost as well as those numbers would indicate, incuding a pair of starts against the solid Astros and a win at home in shutout fashion over the Twins. Massive starting pitching edge and similar offense for the two sides pushes the scales in Seattle’s favor for me. Give me the Mariners here.
