New York Mets (29-17) vs Philadelphia Phillies (20-24)

Part of me wonders if there’s some regression looming for the Mets and Carlos Carrasco, but until it really comes crashing down, I’m sticking with the Mets. Philadelphia’s been so inconsistent and while they looked good on Thursday against the Braves, it was about time Aaron Nola had caught some luck. I’m not as high on Zach Eflin personally, especially on the road where he has a 7.07 ERA compared to a miniscule 1.57 ERA and home on the year. Eflin’s lone start against the Mets this year also saw him yield 6 runs, 5 earned, in just 4.1 innings of work. On the flipside, Carrasco’s strikeout numbers may be down from past years, but he’s still throwing darts and has a 2.16 ERA at home this year compared to a 5.06 ERA on the road. I think we’re getting a decent price with the more trustworthy team and the pitcher in a better spot, so give me the Mets in this one.
