New York Mets (25-31) at Washington Nationals (23-33)

It almost seems like at this price, we’re being begged to take the Mets and I’ll tell you, you don’t have to beg very hard with me. The Nationals just look done, they know they’re not making the postseason and won’t be defending their World Series crown as one of the more disappointing champions in recent memory. Now you can argue part of that is because of a shortened season and a litany of injuries. But the guys that Washington have had, haven’t stepped up, guys like Patrick Corbin who starts for Washington here. Corbin’s gone 2-6 this season with an ERA just under five, a season where if we averaged it out to a 162-game season, could rival his worst career season back in 2016 where he had a 5-13 record with a 5.15 ERA. David Peterson goes for the Mets here and has been a nice addition to that rotation with a 5-2 record and bottom line, the Mets are the only team with playoff aspirations coming into this one. I’ll side with the Mets on the money line as my premium pick for this game.
