Pittsburgh Pirates (14-32) at Cincinnati Reds (23-26)

I stand by my comment that the Reds continue to be one of the most disappointing teams in all of baseball after failing to live up to the expectations set in front of them at the start of the year. However, the Reds are still in the thick of the playoff race and need to keep winning to have a shot at the postseason as all of the teams that the Reds are chasing have games in hand down the stretch, likely due to COVID postponements or rainouts. Luis Castillo goes for the Reds here and he hasn’t been bad really, it’s just been a lack of run support as Castillo’s received a total of 10 runs of support across his last five starts. I think the Reds know the severity of the situation they’re in and JT Brubaker is still a relatively inexperienced arm for the Pirates to be able to play spoiler here. I’ll side with Cincinnati on the run line as my premium pick for this game.
Chris’s Pick Cincinnati Reds: -1.5 -110
