The Marlins and Rays have been heading in different directions as of late, with the Marlins looking far removed from the team that dealt with a COVID outbreak and tore it up after coming back from the break to now middling around .500 and wondering if they peaked too early. Tampa Bay on the other hand, has serious aspirations of winning the AL East and they’re legit if they can keep pace and distance from the New York Yankees who are hot on their tails. With that said, Pablo Lopez goes for the Marlins and he’s been Miami’s most consistent starter this season, posting a 2.10 ERA on the year. Lopez also faces Tampa Bay for the second straight start after allowing just two runs in seven innings last time up and Lopez also has a 1.20 ERA in three road starts this season. Josh Fleming on the other hand for Tampa, has posted a 1.74 ERA in his first two starts, including 5.1 shutout innings against Miami in his last start, and has held opposing teams to a .189 batting average. I just have a feeling there’s a pitcher’s duel brewing here, so give me the under as my premium pick for this game.
