Clemson comes into this one as a massive favorite and one of the bigger public favorites of this weekend, but I think that’s for good reason. Clemson comes in loaded once again led by Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne and this is an offense that takes no prisoners under Dabo Swinney and doesn’t take their foot off of the gas once it’s pedal to the metal. Wake Forest is without Jame Newman at QB after transferring to Georgia and subsequently sitting out due to COVID, and the top three pass catchers from last year are gone as well, leaving starting QB Sam Hartman without much help, sitting near the bottom of FBS in terms of returning offensive production from last year. Clemson was favored by at least 24 points on 12 separate occasions last year and went 10-2 ATS. That’s nuts. The Tigers are also 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games as a road favorite and I think the Tigers make it 11 of 12 with a rout of Wake Forest somewhere in the ball park of 48-7 or something of the like. Either way, I’m laying the points with Clemson as my premium pick for this game.
