SLINGIN' SATURDAY CFB 3-PACK #1
Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (0-0) at Army Black Knights (0-0)

I get why the points with Middle Tennessee are tempting as Asher O’Hara’s a solid dual threat QB and the Black Knights can be predictable with the option offense and not only that, the Black Knights are replacing a ton of starting experience with some key pieces gone like Hopkins, Walker and Slompka. However, the option offense is so dearly loved in college because the parts are always rotating and are interchangeable, and Army tends to grind their opponents down and win the possession battle with their clock management. The main difference here is that option also allows Army to more often than not have shorter 3rd down scenarios and that’s huge considering Army converted on 10% more 3rd downs than MTSU last season. I just think with such a low line, and Army’s ability to take care of the ball and grind down opponents, that Middle Tennessee could and should be in for a long night here as there’s not much else going on outside of Asher O’Hara in Murfreesboro this season. Laying the points with Army will be my premium pick for this game.
