SATURDAY MIDDAY CFB TOP PLAY #4
Purdue Boilermakers (2-0) vs Northwestern Wildcats (3-0)

I respect Northwestern and Pat Fitzgerald for the turnaround this year, matching their win total from all of last year in just three games so far this season, but there’s not enough here for me in terms of laying points with Northwestern on the road. Purdue beat Iowa and the 31-24 win over Illinois wasn’t as close as the final score would suggest as Purdue just took their foot off of the gas. The Boilers have covered in each of their last four as a home dog, are 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games as an underdog and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games against teams with a winning record. Northwestern’s only allowing 4.4 yards per play but they’re only averaging 4.9 yards per play on offense, so I just think that an upset could be on the cards with Purdue here. However, I’ll take the points with the Boilermakers to be safe.
