Kentucky Wildcats (2-4) vs Vanderbilt Commodores (0-5)

You can make the case for Kentucky that Vanderbilt’s been god awful defensively for much of the season, and there will be a bit of extra motivation here for the Wildcats after one of their coaches passed away earlier this week. However, without sounding cynical, extra motivation or not, this Kentucky team has struggled to put points on the board in recent weeks, and last I checked, as a double-digit favorite, you need to score points in order to cover the number. This spread’s sitting around 17 points in most places, and I’m not sure Kentucky even gets to that number or past it if they manage to get to 17. Vanderbilt’s coming off of their best game of the season in over a month, and if the Commodores didn’t turn the ball over five times in that game, Vandy could be trying to build off of their first win here. Kentucky will also be missing three offensive coaches in this game due to COVID issues and Wildcats’ starting QB Terry Wilson is questionable coming into this game. I think all of this adds up to a case of being asked to lay too many points with Kentucky, so I’ll take Vanderbilt and the boatload of points here.
