New York Jets (0-8) vs New England Patriots (2-5)

New England Patriots -9.5. Patriots have beat the Jets in eight straight and have been success to the spread five of their past seven meetings. Little to like with this Jets team as they enter Monday with an 0-8 mark failing to cover seven of those games. Quarterback Sam Darnold is out. and veteran Joe Flacco gets the start. Flacco struggled last year with Denver because the NFL has figured out how to defend an immobile quarterback in the pocket. Look for pressure up the middle from a Bill Belichick defense which will force errant throws and turnovers. Offense did pick up in Buffalo last week as they gained 349 yards and put up 21 points. Patriots were in range to add another seven points late if not for a Cam Newton fumble deep in Bills territory as he was trying to extend a run play. Point totals for the Jets of late have been depression as they have scored a total of 29 points in their past four games putting up no greater than ten in those contests. Last week at KC the team had 221 yards and against a poor defensive team in Buffalo the Jets had only 191 yards. Six of the eight Jets losses have been by double digits with the other point margins at nine and eight. Play New England -9.5.
