Take the Houston Astros +135 to win vs the Tampa Bay Rays in this matchup.
I took the Rays and the juice throughout the Yanks series and it paid dividends, I am using the same rationale here.
2 strong teams, coin flip matchup potentially I'll take the juice.
Break it down Astros have been to the ALCS 4 straight years after knocking out the Rays in the ALDS last season.
The offense struggled for the most part of the year but still did enough to get in. Bregman, Altuve and Correa's numbers were down.
But its playoff time and they are proving why they are serious contenders year in and year out. They are 5-1 in the playoffs as a dog the whole way.
I like Valdez a lot in the pitching matchup, he's 2-0 in the playoffs giving up 2 earned runs in 12 innings of work.
The Astros have won 5 straight Valdez appearances and 8 of 10 overall and he has allowed 4 earned runs in his last 25.1 innings.
The Rays will call on Lefty Snell to start this game, the Rays didn't have the faith to start him in game 5 vs the Yanks.
Instead they went with Glasnow on 3 days rest for a couple innings and literally their 3 best relievers 2 innings each to finish.
Snell gave up 4 earned runs his last start in a 5 inning loss to the Yanks.
His ERA was decent on the season at 3.24 but he never pitched more than 5.2 in 13 starts this season and the Rays bullpen is taxed.
Take the Houston Astros +135 to win vs the Tampa Bay Rays in this matchup.
