Looks like we'll finally get a good old match-up with real starting pitching.
Walker Buehler gets the start for Los Angeles against the veteran Charlie Morton for the Rays.
Morton has been sensational this postseason, giving up just one earned run in 15.2 innings of work. Par for the course, for Morton who has given up just two earned runs in his last 25.2 postseason innings dating back to last season. With every postseason appearance this season the righthander appeared to get stronger, a fact backed up by an improving ground ball to fly ball ratio from game three against the Yankees to game seven against the Astros. Morton has struck out more hitters (17) than he's allowed to reach base (15).
'Uncle Charlie' typically enjoys run support in the regular season but the postseason has been even better with Tampa giving five runs of support in his three starts.
I'll give Morton the slight edge over Buehler but I'm compelled to take the run-line and lay the short price.
