These teams may be on opposite sides of the spectrum but the Rays offense has been dormant of late, losing their last two games. That's a plus in this situation because we know Tampa will be focused knowing if they don't take advantage of the lower tier teams, things could get interesting in the American League East.
Tampa isn't that far off of their offensive stride. They left 34 runners on base in their last 5 games, hitting .195 in that stretch will do that.
The Rays punished Red Sox pitching in a four-game sweep last month by scoring 42 runs -- including a season-high 17 in the finale -- as they batted .364 and boomed nine homers in their lone series in Fenway Park -- setting multiple team records on the trip.
I'm betting that the Red Sox are just what the Rays needed.
