In this article we will formulate a Wild vs Golden Knights prediction for this NHL game on Tuesday, April 22nd at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup in the 1st round of the playoffs.

Minnesota Wild Betting Preview

The Minnesota Wild are down 1-0 in the series after losing game one by a score of 4-2 on Sunday night. Minnesota tied the game at one late in the first period and they cut the deficit to 3-2 in the third, but couldn’t find the tying goal in the loss. The Wild recorded 20 shots on goal, won 60% of the face-offs, and went 0-1 on the power play in the game. Minnesota got both of their goals from Boldy, while Gustavsson stopped 23 out of 26 shots in the game.

Prior to that loss, the Wild finished the regular season by beating the Ducks by a score of 3-2 and the Canucks by a score of 3-2. Minnesota has won four of their last six games and they finished fourth in the Central standings with 97 points. Minnesota has scored 2.74 goals per game and they have allowed 2.88 goals against per game, while also going 20.9% on the power play and 72.4% on the penalty kill this season. Matt Boldy has led Minnesota with 27 goals, 46 assists, and 271 shots on goal, while Marco Rossi has added 24 goals, 36 assists, and 136 shots on goal in the regular season. Filip Gustavsson was 31-19-6 with a 2.56 goals against average and a .914 save percentage during the regular season.

Vegas Golden Knights Betting Preview

The Vegas Golden Knights were able to pickup a 4-2 win on Sunday night in game one and will look to go up 2-0 here. Vegas scored a goal in the second and another early in the third to take a 3-1 lead, but they allowed Minnesota to cut the lead to 3-2, before adding an empty net goal right as time expired. The Golden Knights recorded 27 shots on goal, won 40% of the face-offs, and went 2-2 on the power play in the game. Vegas got goals from Dorofeyev, Hertl, and Howden (2), while Hill stopped 18 out of 20 shots in the win.

Prior to the game, the Golden Knights defeated the Canucks by a score of 4-1, but did lose to the Flames by a score of 5-4. Vegas has won four of their last five games and they finished first in the Pacific standings with 110 points. Vegas has scored 3.34 goals per game and they have allowed 2.61 goals against per game, while also going 28.3% on the power play and 75.7% on the penalty kill this season. In the regular season, Vegas was led by Jack Eichel, who had 28 goals, 66 assists, and 233 shots on goal, while Mark Stone added 19 goals, 48 assists, and 131 shots on goal. Adin Hill was 32-13-5 with a 2.47 goals against average and a .906 save percentage in the regular season.

Wild vs Golden Knights Prediction

Vegas was able to control most of game one in their win to start the series, but they definitely had trouble scoring at even strength. The Golden Knights are 30-9-3 at home this year, while the Wild are 23-14-5 on the road. Minnesota is a dangerous team when healthy, but this is a very tough matchup for them, as the Vegas defense was all over them. I do think the Wild are good enough to keep all of these games close, but I don’t see them scoring three goals very often. Take the under here.
