In this article we will formulate a Wild vs Canucks prediction for this NHL game on Saturday, April 12th at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Minnesota Wild Betting Preview

The Minnesota Wild are playing the Calgary Flames late on Friday night, which is not reflected in this article. The Wild are 43-29-7 this year after they defeated San Jose in overtime by a score of 8-7 in their last game. Minnesota led 7-4 in the third period, but they blew the lead, before escaping with the win in overtime. The Wild outshot San Jose by a total of 44-31, won 53.2% of the face-offs, and went 3-4 on the power play in the game. Minnesota got goals from Eriksson Ek (4), Johansson, Kaprizov (2), and Faber, while Fleury stopped 24 out of 31 shots in the game.

Prior to that win, the Wild defeated the Stars by a score of 3-2, but did lose to the Islanders by a score of 3-1 before that. Minnesota has lost four of their last six games and they are currently battling the Blues for fourth in the Central standings with 93 points. Minnesota has scored 2.75 goals per game and they have allowed 2.89 goals against per game, while also going 21.5% on the power play and 72.7% on the penalty kill this season. Matt Boldy has led Minnesota with 26 goals, 45 assists, and 264 shots on goal, while Marco Rossi has added 24 goals, 36 assists, and 134 shots on goal. Marc-Andre Fleury is 13-9-1 with a 2.97 goals against average and an .897 save percentage this year.

Vancouver Canucks Betting Preview

The Vancouver Canucks are 37-29-13 this season after they defeated Colorado by a score of 4-1 in their last game. Vancouver had their lead cut to 2-1 in the second period, but they scored the last two goals in the game for the win. The Canucks were outshot by a total of 32-30, won 55.4% of the face-offs, and went 0-2 on the power play in the game. Vancouver got goals from DeBrusk, Hoglander, Joshua, and Sherwood, while Lankinen stopped 31 out of 32 shots in the game.

Prior to that win, the Canucks defeated the Stars by a score of 6-5, but did lose to the Golden Knights by a score of 3-2 before that. Vancouver has won three of their last four games and they are currently fifth in the Pacific standings with 87 points. Vancouver has scored 2.89 goals per game and they have allowed 3.08 goals against per game, while also going 22.9% on the power play and 82.5% on the penalty kill this season. Quinn Hughes has led Vancouver with 16 goals, 58 assists, and 182 shots on goal, while Conor Garland has added 19 goals, 30 assists, and 166 shots on goal. Thatcher Demko is 10-8-3 with a 2.90 goals against average and an .889 save percentage this season.

Wild vs Canucks Prediction

Vancouver comes into this contest already eliminated from postseason contention, but they will be at home for this game. The Canucks are coming off of wins against Colorado and Dallas, so they should have some nice momentum. Vancouver is 16-15-7 at home this year, while Minnesota is 22-12-5 on the road. The Wild will be on a back to back in this game, as they are playing in Calgary on Friday, so I am going to take the Canucks here. I don’t love Fleury in net for Minnesota, especially with how well Vancouver is playing. Take the Canucks to win.
