Minnesota Wild Betting Preview

The Minnesota Wild are down 1-3 in this series after they lost three of the first four games by scores of 6-9, 2-5, 5-1, and 2-5. In game four, Minnesota led 1-0 after the first period and they tied it at two in the third, but they allowed three goals in the last nine minutes for the loss. The Wild recorded 21 shots on goal, won 46.2% of the face-offs, and went 1-4 on the power play in the game. Minnesota got goals from Sturm and Yurov, while Wallstedt stopped 29 out of 32 shots, which was a .906 save percentage.

Prior to this series, Minnesota defeated the Stars in six games by scores of 6-1, 2-4, 3-4, 3-2, 4-2, and 5-2. The Wild have won four of their last seven games and they finished third in the Central standings with 104 points. Minnesota scored 3.27 goals per game and they allowed 2.87 goals against per game, while also going 25.2% on the power play and 79.8% on the penalty kill this season. Kirill Kaprizov has led the Wild with four goals and 10 assists, while Quinn Hughes has added four goals and 10 assists in the playoffs. The projected starting goalie for Minnesota is Jesper Wallstedt, who is 5-4 with a 2.66 goals against average and a .912 save percentage this postseason.

Colorado Avalanche Betting Preview

The Colorado Avalanche are up 3-1 in this series after they won game four by a score of 5-2 on Monday night. Colorado blew a 2-1 lead in the third period, but they scored with about eight minutes left to take the lead and they added two empty net goals to seal the win. The Avalanche recorded 34 shots on goal, won 53.8% of the face-offs, and went 1-2 on the power play in the game. Colorado got goals from Colton, Kadri, MacKinnon, Nelson, and Kelly, while Blackwood stopped 19 out of 21 shots, which was a .905 save percentage.

Prior to this series, Colorado swept the Kings in four games by scores of 2-1, 2-1, 4-2, and 5-1. The Avalanche have won 10 of their last 11 games and they finished first in the Central standings with 121 points. Colorado scored 3.63 goals per game and they allowed 2.40 goals against per game, while also going 17.1% on the power play and 84.6% on the penalty kill this season. Nathan MacKinnon has led the Avalanche with six goals and six assists, while Martin Necas has added one goal and eight assists in the playoffs. Wild vs Avalanche Prediction

Colorado comes into this matchup after winning 10 of their last 11 games and they are looking to win the series here. The Avalanche were 26-9-6 at home this year, while the Wild were 23-14-4 on the road. Minnesota has allowed five goals or more in three of the four games in this series, but I thought they played well in game four, before the empty net goals made it look worse than it was. I do think Minnesota has a chance to win this game and extend the series, but I am more confident in it being a higher scoring game. Take the over here.

David Racey's Pick: Over 6.5
