Dallas Stars Betting Preview

The Dallas Stars are 7-4-3 this season after they lost to Anaheim by a score of 7-5 in their last game. Dallas led 2-0 after the first period and 3-2 in the second, but they allowed five of the last seven goals for the tough loss. Dallas got goals from Hintz, Johnston (2), Rantanen, and Seguin, while Oettinger stopped 18 out of 24 shots, which was a .750 save percentage.

Prior to that game, Dallas defeated the Oilers by a score of 4-3, but did lose to the Panthers by a score of 4-3 before that. The Stars have lost three of their last four games and they are currently fourth in the Central standings with 17 points. Dallas has scored 2.86 goals per game and they have allowed 3.21 goals against per game, while also going 34.0% on the power play and 70.5% on the penalty kill this season. The projected starting goalie for Dallas is Jake Oettinger, who is 5-3-2 with a 2.89 goals against average and an .899 save percentage this season.

Stars vs Predators Prediction

Both of these teams come into this matchup struggling in recent games, but Dallas is the better team by a wide margin in my opinion. The Stars are 3-1-2 on the road this year, while the Predators are 4-4-2 at home. Nashville has lost six of their last seven games and they are scoring just 2.44 goals per game. I don’t trust the Predators at either end of the ice and I have to fade them here. Take the Stars by at least two goals.

David Racey's Pick: Stars -1.5
