Dallas Stars Betting Preview

The Dallas Stars are 44-18-11 this year after they defeated the Penguins by a score of 6-3 in their last game. Dallas trailed 2-1 in the second period, but they scored five of the last six goals in the game for the win. The Stars out shot Pittsburgh by a total of 26-12, won 58.9% of the face-offs, and went 2-5 on the power play in the game. Dallas got goals from Bourque (2), Hryckowian, Rantanen, Robertson, and Bichsel, while Oettinger stopped nine out of 12 shots, which was a .750 save percentage.

Prior to that game, Dallas lost to the Islanders by a score of 2-1 and the Devils by a score of 6-4. The Stars have lost four of their last five games and they are currently second in the Central standings with 99 points. Dallas has scored 3.33 goals per game and they have allowed 2.69 goals against per game, while also going 28.8% on the power play and 81.2% on the penalty kill this season. Jason Robertson has led Dallas with 39 goals and 46 assists, while Wyatt Johnston has added 40 goals and 38 assists. The projected starting goalie for Dallas is Casey DeSmith, who is 14-7-5 with a 2.40 goals against average and a .908 save percentage this year.

Philadelphia Flyers Betting Preview

The Philadelphia Flyers are 36-24-12 this season after they defeated the Red Wings by a score of 5-3 in their last game. Philadelphia nearly blew a 4-0 lead in the third period, but they added an empty net goal to seal the win. The Flyers were out shot by a total of 34-26, won 56.7% of the face-offs, and went 2-2 on the power play in the game. Philadelphia got goals from Cates, Couturier, and Tippett (3), while Vladar stopped 31 out of 34 shots, which was a .912 save percentage.

Prior to that game, Philadelphia defeated the Blackhawks by a score of 5-1, but lost to the Blue Jackets by a score of 3-2 before that. The Flyers have won five of their last six games and they are currently fifth in the Metro standings with 84 points. Philadelphia has scored 2.82 goals per game and they have allowed 2.97 goals against per game, while also going 14.5% on the power play and 78.4% on the penalty kill this season. Travis Konecny has led Philadelphia with 25 goals and 35 assists, while Trevor Zegras has added 22 goals and 35 assists. The projected starting goalie for Philadelphia is Samuel Ersson, who is 12-10-5 with a 3.20 goals against average and an .867 save percentage this season.

Stars vs Flyers Prediction

Philadelphia was able to get a huge win over Detroit on Saturday night, as they continue to make a late push for the playoffs. The Flyers are 16-12-8 at home this year, while the Stars are 22-8-7 on the road. Dallas snapped their losing streak with a win on Saturday and they finally found some much needed offense. The Stars are the better team and I have zero faith in Ersson in net, so I will take Dallas to win by at least two goals here.

David Racey's Pick: Stars -1.5
