In this article we will formulate a Stars vs Flames prediction for this NHL game on Saturday, November 22nd at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Dallas Stars Betting Preview

The Dallas Stars are 13-5-3 this season after they defeated Vancouver by a score of 4-2 in their last game. Dallas was tied at two after the first period and they scored twice in the third to pull away with the road win. The Stars were out shot by a total of 36-24, won 38.6% of the face-offs, and went 0-2 on the power play in the game. Dallas got goals from Blackwell, Bourque, Rantanen, and Robertson, while Oettinger stopped 34 out of 36 shots, which was a .944 save percentage.

Prior to that game, Dallas lost to the Islanders by a score of 3-2, but did beat the Flyers by a score of 5-1 before that. The Stars have won six of their last seven games and they are currently second in the Central standings with 29 points. Dallas has scored 3.24 goals per game and they have allowed 2.76 goals against per game, while also going 31.0% on the power play and 76.6% on the penalty kill this season. Mikko Rantanen has led Dallas with 10 goals and 18 assists, while Jason Robertson has added 12 goals and 14 assists. The projected starting goalie for Dallas is Jake Oettinger, who is 9-4-2 with a 2.72 goals against average and a .902 save percentage this season.

Calgary Flames Betting Preview

The Calgary Flames are 6-13-3 this year after they defeated Buffalo by a score of 6-2 in their last game. Calgary blew a 2-0 lead in the second period, but they scored four goals in the third to pull away with the win. The Flames out shot Buffalo by a total of 35-30, won 53.3% of the face-offs, and went 0-1 on the power play in the game. Calgary got goals from Backlund, Coronato, Farabee (2), Frost, and Andersson, while Cooley stopped 28 out of 30 shots, which was a .933 save percentage.

Prior to that game, Calgary lost to the Blackhawks by a score of 5-2 and the Jets by a score of 4-3. The Flames have lost five of their last seven games and they are currently last in the Pacific standings with 15 points. Calgary has scored 2.27 goals per game and they have allowed 3.05 goals against per game, while also going 12.5% on the power play and 79.5% on the penalty kill this season. Nazem Kadri has led Calgary with four goals and 10 assists, while Rasmus Andersson has added five goals and seven assists. The projected starting goalie for Calgary is Dustin Wolf, who is 5-11-2 with a 3.08 goals against average and an .892 save percentage this year.

Stars vs Flames Prediction

Dallas cruises into this matchup after winning six of their last seven games and they have allowed two goals or fewer in four of their last five. The Stars are 7-1-2 on the road this year, while the Flames are 3-4-2 at home. Calgary has dropped five of their last seven games and they are scoring just 2.27 goals per game. The Flames have really struggled on offense this season and I don’t see how it gets any better against this Dallas defense. Take the Stars to win by at least two goals here.

David Racey's Pick: Stars -1.5
