In this article we will formulate a St. Louis Blues vs Seattle Kraken prediction for this NHL game on Tuesday, October 8th at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

St. Louis Blues Betting Preview

The St. Louis Blues were 43-33-6 last season and finished with 92 points in the regular season, which was good for fifth in the Central Division. St. Louis was in the Wild Card race in the Western Conference down the stretch, but just couldn’t string enough wins together to get it done. The Blues do return goalie Jordan Binnington, who was very good last season and is a huge key to their success this year. Robert Thomas led the Blues last season with 26 goals, 60 assists, and 170 shots on goal.

St. Louis went 2-5 in the preseason, with their wins coming in overtime against Chicago and Dallas. The Blues lost their first three games of the preseason, but they went 2-2 in their last four.

Seattle Kraken Betting Preview

The Seattle Kraken were 34-35-13 last year and finished the regular season with 81 points, which was fifth in the Pacific Division. Seattle had a very inconsistent 2023-24 season and they finished the season by losing 14 of their last 20 games. The Kraken will have Joey Daccord and Philipp Grubauer in net to start the season, which is definitely not my favorite goalie combo. Jared McCann led Seattle with 29 goals, 33 assists, and 216 shots on goal, but he is day-to-day coming into this game.

Seattle went 2-4 in the preseason, with the two wins coming against Vancouver and Edmonton. The Kraken only scored two goals in their first two preseason games, but scored 3, 4, 3, and 6 in their last four.

St. Louis Blues vs Seattle Kraken Prediction

Both of these teams missed the playoffs last season and will look to start off on a winning note this year. Both of these teams had issues scoring the puck on a consistent basis last season, so goals may be at a premium here. I think this game could go either way, especially being the first game of the season, but I am going to take St. Louis and the plus money. The Blues have the advantage in goal with Binnington in my opinion, which is a huge advantage in a lower scoring game. Take St. Louis to get the win.
