In this article we will formulate an Oilers vs Kings prediction for this NHL game on Thursday, February 26th at crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Edmonton Oilers Betting Preview

The Edmonton Oilers are playing a game late on Wednesday night, which is not included in this article. The Oilers are 28-22-8 this year after they lost to Calgary by a score of 4-3 in their last game. Edmonton cut the deficit from 3-1 to 3-3 in the third period, but they allowed a goal with about 13 minutes left and couldn’t tie it up in the loss. The Oilers out shot Calgary by a total of 39-25, won 60.0% of the face-offs, and went 2-4 on the power play in the game. Edmonton got goals from Draisaitl (2) and Kapanen, while Jarry stopped 21 out of 25 shots, which was an .840 save percentage.

Prior to that game, Edmonton lost to the Maple Leafs by a score of 5-2 and the Wild by a score of 7-3. The Oilers have lost three games in a row and they are currently second in the Pacific standings with 64 points. Edmonton has scored 3.41 goals per game and they have allowed 3.29 goals against per game, while also going 31.4% on the power play and 76.9% on the penalty kill this year. Connor McDavid has led Edmonton with 34 goals and 62 assists, while Leon Draisaitl has added 29 goals and 51 assists. The projected starting goalie for Edmonton is Connor Ingram, who is 6-4-1 with a 2.67 goals against average and an .897 save percentage for the Oilers this year.

Los Angeles Kings Betting Preview

The Kings are also playing a game late on Wednesday night, which is not included in this article. The Los Angeles Kings are 23-19-14 this season after they lost to Vegas by a score of 4-1 in their last game. Los Angeles cut the deficit to 4-1 late in the first period, but couldn’t find anymore offense in the loss. The Kings out shot Vegas by a total of 33-22, won 38.2% of the face-offs, and went 0-5 on the power play in the game. Los Angeles got their lone goal from Moore, while Forsberg stopped 18 out of 22 shots, which was an .818 save percentage.

Prior to that game, Los Angeles lost to the Kraken by a score of 4-2 and the Hurricanes by a score of 3-2. The Kings have lost four of their last five games and they are currently fifth in the Pacific standings with 60 points. Los Angeles has scored 2.54 goals per game and they have allowed 2.77 goals against per game, while also going 16.0% on the power play and 76.6% on the penalty kill this season. Adrian Kempe has led LA with 20 goals and 26 assists, while Quinton Byfield has added 11 goals and 19 assists. The projected starting goalie for Los Angeles is Darcy Kuemper, who is 14-11-9 with a 2.59 goals against average and a .900 save percentage this season.

Oilers vs Kings Prediction

Both of these teams played on Wednesday night, so they will both be on a back to back here. Edmonton is 13-12-4 on the road this year, while LA is 8-12-7 at home. The Kings have lost three games in a row and they are one of the lowest scoring teams in the NHL. The Oilers have also lost three in a row and they have allowed 16 goals in those three games. I don’t like the Edmonton defense or goaltending situation, but I am taking them here, as this LA offense is not good. Take the Oilers here.
