Edmonton Oilers Betting Preview

The Edmonton Oilers are 8-6-4 this year after they defeated Philadelphia in overtime by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday night. Edmonton allowed the Flyers to tie the game at one late in the second period, but they locked down defensively and got the win just 1:19 into overtime. Prior to that game, Edmonton defeated the Blue Jackets by a score of 5-4, but lost to the Avalanche by a score of 9-1 before that. The Oilers have won two games in a row and they are currently third in the Pacific standings with 20 points. Edmonton has scored 3.06 goals per game and they have allowed 3.47 goals against per game, while also going 32.6% on the power play and 82.6% on the penalty kill this season. The projected starting goalie for Edmonton is Calvin Pickard, who is 2-2-1 with a 4.00 goals against average and an .836 save percentage this year.

Oilers vs Blue Jackets Prediction

Edmonton was able to escape with the win against the Flyers on Wednesday night, which was their second straight win in overtime, but they will be on a back to back here. The Oilers are 3-5-2 on the road this year, while the Blue Jackets are 3-3-0 at home. Columbus snapped their losing streak with a win over Seattle on Tuesday, but they have allowed at least four goals in three of their last four games. I don’t really trust either goalie in this matchup, but I think Edmonton is starting to pick up momentum and I like them to continue that here. Take the Oilers to win.
