In this article we will formulate a Lightning vs Golden Knights prediction for this NHL game on Thursday, November 6th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Tampa Bay Lightning Betting Preview

The Tampa Bay Lightning are 6-5-2 this year after they lost to Colorado by a score of 3-2 in their last game. Tampa Bay led 1-0 early in the first period, but they allowed the next three goals and fell just short in the comeback attempt. The Lightning were out shot by a total of 33-24, won 49.2% of the face-offs, and went 0-3 on the power play in the game. Tampa Bay got goals from Kucherov and Point, while Vasilevskiy stopped 30 out of 33 shots, which was a .909 save percentage.

Prior to that game, Tampa Bay defeated the Mammoth by a score of 4-2 and the Stars by a score of 2-1. The Lightning have won five of their last six games and they are currently tied for fifth in the Atlantic standings with 14 points. Tampa Bay has scored 2.85 goals per game and they have allowed 2.77 goals against per game, while also going 13.6% on the power play and 88.6% on the penalty kill this season. Jake Guentzel has led TB with five goals and seven assists, while Nikita Kucherov has added five goals and six assists. The projected starting goalie for Tampa Bay is Andrei Vasilevskiy, who is 3-4-2 with a 2.67 goals against average and a .900 save percentage this year.

Vegas Golden Knights Betting Preview

The Vegas Golden Knights are 7-2-3 this season after they defeated Detroit by a score of 1-0 in their last game. Vegas scored the only goal of the game in the second period and locked down defensively for the shutout win. The Golden Knights out shot Detroit by a total of 34-24, won 66.1% of the face-offs, and went 0-1 on the power play in the game. Vegas got their lone goal from Barbashev, while Schmid stopped all 24 shots in the shutout victory.

Prior to that game, Vegas lost to the Avalanche by a score of 4-2, but did beat the Hurricanes by a score of 6-3 before that. The Golden Knights have lost three of their last five games and they are currently tied for first in the Pacific standings with 17 points. Vegas has scored 3.33 goals per game and they have allowed 2.58 goals against per game, while also going 25.0% on the power play and 81.3% on the penalty kill this season. Jack Eichel has led Vegas with eight goals and 11 assists, while Mitch Marner has added three goals and 11 assists. The projected starting goalie for Vegas is Akira Schmid, who is 6-1-0 with a 2.31 goals against average and a .908 save percentage this season.

Lightning vs Golden Knights Prediction

Tampa Bay had their winning streak snapped last time out against Colorado, but they have been one of the hottest teams in the NHL over the last two weeks. The Lightning are 3-2-2 on the road this year, while the Golden Knights are 4-1-1 at home. Vegas has been inconsistent over their last five games and the offense has been a problem in four of those. Both of these projected goalies have been outstanding to start the season and with Vegas struggling to score, I like the under in this matchup.

David Racey's Pick: Under 6.5
