Tampa Bay Lightning Betting Preview

The Tampa Bay Lightning are 17-11-2 this season after they defeated Montreal by a score of 6-1 in their last game. Tampa Bay scored the first four goals in the game and added two more in the third for the blowout win. The Lightning recorded 27 shots, won 30.2% of the face-offs, and went 1-3 on the power play in the game. Tampa Bay got goals from Holmberg, Kucherov, Point, D’Astous, and Raddysh (2), while Johansson stopped 26 out of 27 shots, which was a .963 save percentage.

Prior to that game, Tampa Bay lost to the Maple Leafs by a score of 2-0 and the Islanders by a score of 2-0. The Lightning have lost four of their last five games and they are currently first in the Atlantic standings with 36 points. Tampa Bay has scored 3.13 goals per game and they have allowed 2.53 goals against per game, while also going 16.3% on the power play and 86.5% on the penalty kill this season. Nikita Kucherov has led TB with 13 goals and 23 assists, while Brandon Hagel has added 17 goals and 12 assists. The projected starting goalie for Tampa Bay is Jonas Johansson, who is 6-5-0 with a 2.53 goals against average and a .907 save percentage this season.

New Jersey Devils Betting Preview

The New Jersey Devils are 17-12-1 this year after they defeated Ottawa by a score of 4-3 in their last game. New Jersey trailed 2-1 early in the game, but they tied the game at three in the second and scored the only goal in the third for the win. The Devils were out shot by a total of 38-32, won 46.2% of the face-offs, and went 0-3 on the power play in the game. Lightning vs Devils Prediction

Both of these teams were able to snap losing streaks in their last game, but both are looking for more consistent offense. Tampa Bay is 9-4-2 on the road this year, while New Jersey is 9-4-1 at home. The Devils have scored one goal or fewer in three of their last four games, while the Lightning have scored one goal or fewer in three of their last five. I think we will see a lower scoring game, but I am going to side with New Jersey, as TB continues to deal with critical injuries.
