In this article we will formulate a Flyers vs Canucks prediction for this NHL game on Tuesday, December 30th at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Philadelphia Flyers Betting Preview

The Philadelphia Flyers are 19-11-7 this season after they lost to Seattle by a score of 4-1 in their last game. Philadelphia cut the deficit to 3-1 late in the third period, but allowed an empty net goal to put the game away. The Flyers out shot Seattle by a total of 33-20, won 52.0% of the face-offs, and went 0-3 on the power play in the game. Philadelphia got their lone goal from Grundstrom, while Vladar stopped 16 out of 18 shots, which was an .889 save percentage.

Prior to that game, Philadelphia defeated the Blackhawks by a score of 3-1 and the Canucks by a score of 5-2. The Flyers have won two of their last three games and they are currently third in the Metro standings with 45 points. Philadelphia has scored 2.89 goals per game and they have allowed 2.78 goals against per game, while also going 16.3% on the power play and 82.5% on the penalty kill this season. Trevor Zegras has led Philadelphia with 15 goals and 22 assists, while Travis Konecny has added 11 goals and 22 assists. The projected starting goalie for Philadelphia is Dan Vladar, who is 13-6-3 with a 2.38 goals against average and a .909 save percentage this season.

Vancouver Canucks Betting Preview

The Vancouver Canucks are playing a late game on Monday night against Seattle, which is not reflected in this article. The Canucks are 15-19-3 this year after they lost to San Jose by a score of 6-3 in their last game. Vancouver cut the deficit to 2-1, 3-2, and 4-3, but could never find the tying goal in the loss. The Canucks were out shot by a total of 37-27, won 55.6% of the face-offs, and went 1-4 on the power play in the game. Vancouver got goals from Karlsson, O’Connor, and Rossi, while Demko stopped 32 out of 36 shots, which was an .889 save percentage.

Prior to that game, Vancouver lost to the Flyers by a score of 5-2, but did beat the Bruins by a score of 5-4 before that. The Canucks have won four of their last six games and they are currently last in the Pacific standings with 33 points. Vancouver has scored 2.78 goals per game and they have allowed 3.46 goals against per game, while also going 20.3% on the power play and 74.6% on the penalty kill this season. Elias Pettersson has led Vancouver with eight goals and 14 assists, while Filip Hronek has added two goals and 20 assists. The projected starting goalie for Vancouver is Thatcher Demko, who is 8-7-0 with a 2.63 goals against average and a .909 save percentage this year.

Flyers vs Canucks Prediction

Philadelphia comes into this contest trying to bounce back from a loss to Seattle last time out, but they did just beat Vancouver 5-2 on December 22nd. The Flyers are 8-6-3 on the road this year, while the Canucks are 4-11-1 at home. Vancouver has dropped two in a row going into Monday night and they allowed 11 goals in those two losses. The Canucks have been pretty rough on defense all season and they have been awful at home, so I will take the Flyers to get the win here.
