The Florida Panthers and the Carolina Hurricanes meet Wednesday in NHL action from the Lenovo Center. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Florida Panthers vs. Carolina Hurricanes prediction.

Series Recap

The Carolina Hurricanes managed to extend their season by at least one more game after nabbing a 3-0 win over the Panthers in game four to make it a 3-1 series. The game remained scoreless through the first 20 minutes and for the first half of the second period before Logan Stankoven got the Hurricanes on the board just after the midway point of the second. The one goal would hold up until Sebastian Aho and Jordan Staal scored empty net goals 26 seconds apart to give the Hurricanes insurance goals that they’d ride to the finish line to snap their 15-game conference finals losing streak.

Panthers Have Second Chance At Clinching Series

Sam Reinhart has a team-high 81 points including 39 goals and 42 assists while Sam Bennett has 51 points with 25 goals and 26 assists and Anton Lundell has 45 points of his own with 17 goals and 28 assists. Aleksander Barkov also has 71 points with 51 assists of his own while Carter Verhaeghe has 53 points with 20 goals and 33 assists and Matthew Tkachuk has 57 points with 22 goals and 35 assists. Vitek Vanecek is also 2-4-1 with a 3.00 GAA and an .890 save percentage in goal for the Panthers this year.

Florida Panthers vs. Carolina Hurricanes Prediction

I’m on the Panthers here. I know the Hurricanes have been one of the best home teams in the NHL this season, but that didn’t stop the Panthers from demolishing Carolina in their own barn twice earlier in this series, and the Panthers don’t want to give the Hurricanes any sort of sustained momentum. Florida probably remembers what they had against Edmonton in the cup final last year, and how dicey that got, but I think that Florida exorcises those demons and gets the win to go back to the cup final here. Give me the Panthers.

Chris Ruffolo's Pick: Florida Panthers -125
