In this article we will formulate a Ducks vs Wild prediction for this NHL game on Tuesday, April 15th at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Anaheim Ducks Betting Preview

The Anaheim Ducks are 35-37-8 this year after they lost to Colorado by a score of 4-2 in their last game. Anaheim led 2-0 late in the third period, but they allowed four goals in the last ten minutes for the epic collapse. The Ducks were outshot by a total of 25-21, won 51.1% of the face-offs, and went 0-2 on the power play in the game. Anaheim got goals from Colangelo and McTavish, while Dostal stopped 21 out of 24 shots in the loss.

Prior to that game, the Ducks lost to the Kings by a score of 6-1, but did beat the Flames by a score of 4-3 before that. Anaheim has lost four of their last six games and they are currently sixth in the Pacific standings with 78 points. Anaheim has scored 2.68 goals per game and they have allowed 3.20 goals against per game, while also going 11.9% on the power play and 73.6% on the penalty kill this season. Troy Terry has led Anaheim with 20 goals, 34 assists, and 183 shots on goal, while Mason McTavish has added 22 goals, 29 assists, and 173 shots on goal. Lukas Dostal is 23-23-6 with a 3.11 goals against average and a .902 save percentage this year.

Minnesota Wild Betting Preview

The Minnesota Wild are 44-30-7 this season after they defeated Vancouver in overtime by a score of 3-2 in their last game. Minnesota trailed 2-0 after the second period, but they scored twice in the third and won the game in overtime. The Wild outshot Vancouver by a total of 33-14, won 42.1% of the face-offs, and went 0-2 on the power play in the game. Minnesota got goals from Foligno, Zuccarello, and Faber, while Gustavsson stopped 12 out of 14 shots in the game.

Prior to that big win, the Wild lost to the Flames by a score of 4-2, but did beat the Sharks by a score of 8-7 before that. Minnesota has won three of their last four games and they are currently fourth in the Central standings with 95 points. Minnesota has scored 2.74 goals per game and they have allowed 2.89 goals against per game, while also going 21.1% on the power play and 72.3% on the penalty kill this season. Matt Boldy has led Minnesota with 26 goals, 45 assists, and 268 shots on goal, while Marco Rossi has added 24 goals, 36 assists, and 134 shots on goal. Ducks vs Wild Prediction

Minnesota comes into this matchup trying to lock up a playoff spot, which they can do with a win or overtime loss. The Wild are 21-17-2 at home this year, while the Ducks are 14-19-6 on the road. Anaheim has nothing to play for in this game and we saw them have an epic third period collapse last time out, so I am not sure what kind of effort we will get from them here. Minnesota has won three of their last four games (all three wins in OT), but they haven’t been overly impressive and I could see them being very conservative late in the game. Take the Ducks +1.5 here.

David Racey's Pick: Ducks +1.5
