The Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Cardinals meet Tuesday in NHL action at the crypto.com Arena. Here’s a Colorado Avalanche vs Los Angeles Kings Prediction. This article will include a Colorado Avalanche vs Los Angeles Kings Pick.

Colorado Avalanche Betting Preview

The Colorado Avalanche have made the playoffs in 8 straight seasons and enter year 10 under coach Jared Bednar. The Avs have won one playoff series since winning the cup in the 2021-22 season.

The Avalanche have one of the best trios in hockey with Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, and Martin Necas. MacKinnon is one of the best players in the sport and a juggernaut offensively, while Maker is a premier defenseman and Necas has the playmaking that creates scary vibes when paired with MacKinnon. When all of those guys are clicking, the Avs ceiling raises and raises the ceiling of this team. The return of Gabriel Landeskog is a welcome sight, and Mackenzie Blackwood was great for Colorado since coming over from San Jose.

The Avalanche have an elite top six, a solid goalie tandem and respectable defenders. Depth and injury concerns are real, but the Avalanche are a legit contender in the west if everything comes together.

Los Angeles Kings Betting Preview

The Los Angeles Kings have made the playoffs in 4 straight seasons but haven’t won a playoff series since the 2013-14 season. The Kings enter the third year under coach Jim Hiller.

The Kings were great defensively last season and that should continue this year. Darcy Kuemper and Drew Doughty are coming off fantastic seasons, and Mikey Anderson and Brandt Clarke provide depth in that area. Quinton Byfield is a potential star who has gotten better in his last two seasons. The addition of Corey Perry adds a veteran presence and there’s still scoring ability with the 40-year-old. There’s also going to be extra motivation for the Kings, given it’s the last season for Anze Kopitar. A Kings legend, I’m sure they’ll want to make a run and send Kopitar off a winner.

The Kings have had consistent regular season success and are elite defensively, but it’s all about ending this playoff winning drought. It means nothing if the Kings can’t make at least the second round.

Colorado Avalanche vs Los Angeles Kings Prediction

You can make a case for either side, as these are two legit playoff teams that have goals of making a run in the west. However, the price is a pick em spot, and that has me leaning toward the Avalanche, the more explosive, better team overall. Give me plus money, and I’d lean toward the Kings at home, but the price doesn’t justify that. The home team has won each of the last 5 meetings between the Avs and Kings, but at this price, I’m going to side with the Avalanche on the road.
