Vancouver Canucks Betting Preview

The Vancouver Canucks are 18-36-7 this season after they lost to Carolina by a score of 6-4 in their last game. Vancouver cut the deficit from 5-2 to 5-4 in the third period, but they allowed an empty net goal to seal the loss. The Canucks were out shot by a total of 33-22, won 46.7% of the face-offs, and went 2-4 on the power play in the game. Vancouver got goals from Boeser, Hoglander, Rossi, and Hronek, while Lankinen stopped 18 out of 22 shots, which was an .818 save percentage.

Prior to that game, the Canucks lost to the Stars by a score of 6-1 and the Kraken by a score of 5-1. The Canucks have lost seven games in a row and they are currently last in the Pacific standings with 43 points. Vancouver has scored 2.51 goals per game and they have allowed 3.74 goals against per game, while also going 18.4% on the power play and 70.0% on the penalty kill this season. Elias Pettersson has led Vancouver with 13 goals and 24 assists, while Filip Hronek has added six goals and 29 assists. The projected starting goalie for Vancouver is Nikita Tolopilo, who is 3-5-2 with a 3.27 goals against average and a .901 save percentage this season.

Chicago Blackhawks Betting Preview

The Chicago Blackhawks are 23-28-10 this year after they lost to Winnipeg in overtime by a score of 3-2 in their last game. Chicago led 2-1 in the third, but they allowed the tying goal with 39 seconds left in regulation and lost in overtime. The Blackhawks were out shot by a total of 32-19, won 56.9% of the face-offs, and went 1-3 on the power play in the game. Chicago got goals from Greene and Teravainen, while Knight stopped 29 out of 32 shots, which was a .906 save percentage.

Prior to that game, the Blackhawks defeated the Mammoth by a score of 4-0, but lost to the Avalanche by a score of 3-1 before that. The Blackhawks have lost four of their last five games and they are currently seventh in the Central standings with 56 points. Chicago has scored 2.62 goals per game and they have allowed 3.12 goals against per game, while also going 19.7% on the power play and 85.9% on the penalty kill this season. Connor Bedard has led Chicago with 25 goals and 32 assists, while Tyler Bertuzzi has added 26 goals and 19 assists. The projected starting goalie for Chicago is Spencer Knight, who is 16-18-8 with a 2.63 goals against average and a .908 save percentage this year.

Canucks vs Blackhawks Prediction

Vancouver comes into this matchup on a long losing streak and they have allowed at least five goals in four of their last five games. The Canucks are 12-17-2 on the road this year, while the Blackhawks are 12-14-5 at home. Chicago has lost four of their last five games and they have scored two goals or fewer in all four of those losses. Both teams are really struggling right now and they are both low scoring, so I like the under in this contest.

David Racey's Pick: Under 6.5
