Calgary Flames Betting Preview

The Calgary Flames are playing against the Ducks late on Tuesday night, which is not reflected in this article. The Flames are 18-14-7 this year after they lost to Nashville by a score of 4-1 in their last game. Calgary cut the deficit to 2-1 in the second period, but they allowed two more goals in the third in the loss. The Flames outshot Nashville by a total of 32-28, won 52.9% of the face-offs, and went 0-3 on the power play in the game. Calgary got their lone goal from Backlund, while Wolf stopped 24 out of 27 shots in the loss.

Prior to that game, the Flames lost to the Hockey Club by a score of 5-3 but did beat the Canucks by a score of 3-1 before that. Calgary has lost three of their last four games and they are fifth in the Pacific standings with 43 points. Calgary has scored 2.62 goals per game and they have allowed 3.05 goals against per game, while also going 20.2% on the power play and 70.4% on the penalty kill this season. Jonathan Huberdeau has led Calgary with 16 goals, 13 assists, and 68 shots on goal, while Nazem Kadri has added 14 goals, 13 assists, and 135 shots on goal. Dan Vladar is 6-8-5 with a 3.08 goals-against average and a .888 save percentage this year.

Los Angeles Kings Betting Preview

The Los Angeles Kings are 23-10-5 this season after they defeated Tampa Bay by a score of 2-1 in their last game. Los Angeles trailed 1-0 early in the first period, but they scored the last two goals in the game for the win. The Kings were outshot by a total of 34-21, won 50.8% of the face-offs, and went 0-1 on the power play in the game. Los Angeles got goals from Kempe and Anderson, while Kuemper stopped 33 out of 34 shots in the game.

Prior to that win, the Kings defeated the Devils by a score of 3-0 and the Flyers by a score of 5-4. Los Angeles has won four games in a row and they are currently battling Edmonton for second in the Pacific standings with 51 points. Los Angeles has scored 3.11 goals per game and they have allowed 2.50 goals against per game, while also going 16% on the power play and 82.6% on the penalty kill this season. Anze Kopitar has led LA with 12 goals, 27 assists, and 49 shots on goal, while Adrian Kempe has added 19 goals, 18 assists, and 103 shots on goal. Darcy Kuemper is 11-2-5 with a 2.23 goals against average and a .920 save percentage this year.

Calgary Flames vs Los Angeles Kings Prediction

Los Angeles comes into this matchup playing very well and they are looking for their fifth straight win. The Kings are 14-2-1 at home this year, while the Flames are 5-8-4 on the road. Calgary does play Anaheim late on Tuesday night, but they have really struggled on the road this season. The Flames are scoring just 2.62 goals per game and their penalty kill is sitting at 70.4%. Calgary has been one of the best home teams in the NHL, but I can’t trust them on the road, especially with how this LA team is playing. Take the Kings -1.5 here.

David Racey's Pick: Kings -1.5
