Colorado Avalanche Betting Preview

The Colorado Avalanche are 44-11-9 this season after they defeated the Kraken by a score of 5-1 in their last game. Colorado had their lead cut to 3-1 in the second period, but they scored the last two goals to pull away for the win. Colorado got goals from Kadri, Kiviranta, MacKinnon, Necas, and Roy, while Wedgewood stopped 28 out of 29 shots, which was a .966 save percentage.

Prior to that game, Colorado lost to the Oilers by a score of 4-3, but did beat the Wild by a score of 3-2 before that. The Avalanche have won six of their last seven games and they are currently first in the Central standings with 97 points. Colorado has scored 3.80 goals per game and they have allowed 2.42 goals against per game, while also going 16.3% on the power play and 82.6% on the penalty kill this season. Nathan MacKinnon has led Colorado with 44 goals and 64 assists, while Martin Necas has added 30 goals and 49 assists. The projected starting goalie for Colorado is Mackenzie Blackwood, who is 18-7-1 with a 2.42 goals against average and a .908 save percentage this season.

Winnipeg Jets Betting Preview

The Winnipeg Jets are 26-28-10 this year after they lost to the Rangers by a score of 6-3 in their last game. Winnipeg tied the game at three in the third period, but they allowed the last three goals for the loss. The Jets out shot New York by a total of 26-17, won 56.6% of the face-offs, and went 0-1 on the power play in the game. Winnipeg got goals from Connor, Rosen, and Vilardi, while Hellebuyck stopped 11 out of 16 shots, which was a .688 save percentage.

Prior to that game, Winnipeg lost to the Ducks by a score of 4-1, but did beat the Canucks by a score of 3-2 before that. The Jets have won three of their last five games and they are currently seventh in the Central standings with 62 points. Avalanche vs Jets Prediction

Winnipeg comes into this matchup looking to snap their two game losing streak and they have allowed 10 goals in those two losses. The Jets are 15-13-5 at home this year, while the Avalanche are 21-6-5 on the road. Colorado has won six of their last seven games and they have allowed two goals or fewer in three of their last five. The Avalanche are an elite team on both ends of the ice and I am worried about Hellebuyck after that awful outing, so take Colorado -1.5 here.

David Racey's Pick: Avalanche -1.5
