In this article we will formulate a Kings vs Kraken prediction for this NHL game on Tuesday, April 15th at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.
Los Angeles Kings Betting Preview
The Los Angeles Kings are playing the Oilers late on Monday night, which is not reflected in this article, but they are winning 4-0 after two periods. The Kings are 46-24-9 this year after they defeated Colorado by a score of 5-4 in their last game. Los Angeles blew a 2-0 lead early in the game, but they scored three of the next fours goals and were able to hang on for the win. The Kings outshot Colorado by a total of 32-26, won 56.1% of the face-offs, and went 1-4 on the power play in the game. Los Angeles got goals from Byfield, Fiala (2), Kopitar, and Laferriere, while Kuemper stopped 22 out of 26 shots in the win.
Prior to that game, the Kings defeated the Ducks by a score of 6-1, but did lose to the Kraken by a score of 2-1 before that. Los Angeles has won six of their last seven games and they are currently second in the Pacific standings with 101 points. Los Angeles has scored 3.00 goals per game and they have allowed 2.44 goals against per game, while also going 17.1% on the power play and 81.8% on the penalty kill this season. Adrian Kempe has led LA with 33 goals, 35 assists, and 228 shots on goal, while Anze Kopitar has added 21 goals, 44 assists, and 97 shots on goal. David Rittich is 15-13-2 with a 2.71 goals against average and an .890 save percentage this season.
Seattle Kraken Betting Preview
The Seattle Kraken are 35-40-6 this year after they defeated St. Louis in a shootout by a score of 4-3 in their last game. Seattle led 2-1 in the third period, but they needed the last goal in regulation to tie the game, before winning in the shootout. The Kraken were outshot by a total of 23-17, won 49% of the face-offs, and went 0-2 on the power play in the game. Seattle got goals from Eyssimont, Schwartz, and Wright, while Grubauer stopped 20 out of 23 shots in the shootout win.
Prior to that game, the Kraken lost to the Golden Knights by a score of 2-1 and the Hockey Club by a score of 7-1. Seattle has won four of their last six games and they are currently second to last in the Pacific standings with 76 points. Seattle has scored 2.96 goals per game and they have allowed 3.16 goals against per game, while also going 17.9% on the power play and 77.4% on the penalty kill this season. Jared McCann has led Seattle with 22 goals, 38 assists, and 199 shots on goal, while Chandler Stephenson has added 13 goals, 38 assists, and 71 shots on goal. Joey Daccord is 27-22-5 with a 2.69 goals against average and a .909 save percentage this season.
Kings vs Kraken Prediction
Los Angeles comes into this matchup after most likely locking up the second seed in the Pacific standings on Monday, so they will be on a back to back here. The Kings are 15-19-5 on the road this year, while the Kraken are 18-17-5 at home. Seattle has dropped two of their last three games, but did get a nice win over St. Louis in their last contest. I think the Kings will be very cautious with who plays in this game, as it doesn’t mean anything to them, so I like the Kraken at home.
