The St. Louis Blues will play the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario. St. Louis has won seven of their last eight games, while Toronto has lost two of their last three. Let’s take a look at the betting matchup and the Blues vs Maple Leafs prediction.

Blues Preview

The St. Louis Blues are 28-21-2 this season after they defeated Montreal by a score of 7-2 in their last game. St. Louis scored three goals in the first period and added three more goals in the third period for the easy win. The Blues out shot Montreal by a total of 36-32 and went 3-5 on the power play in the game. St. Louis defeated Buffalo by a score of 3-1 in the game prior to Montreal, but lost to Columbus by a score of 1-0 before that. The Blues are scoring 2.92 goals per game and they are allowing 3.04 goals against per game, while going 17.1% on the power play and 79.3% on the penalty kill. Robert Thomas has led St. Louis with 18 goals, 39 assists, and 103 shots on goal. The projected starting goalie for St. Louis is Joel Hofer, who is 10-8-0 this year with a 2.78 goals against average and a .915 save percentage.

Maple Leafs Preview

The Toronto Maple Leafs are 26-16-8 this year after they lost to Ottawa by a score of 5-3 in their last game. Toronto tied the game at two in the second period, but Ottawa scored three of the last four goals in the game for the win. The Maple Leafs out shot Ottawa by a total of 34-32 and went 3-3 on the penalty kill in the game. Toronto defeated Dallas by a score of 5-4 in the game prior to Ottawa, but lost to the Islanders before that. The Maple Leafs are scoring 3.44 goals per game and they are allowing 3.22 goals against per game, while going 26.6% on the power play and 78.2% on the penalty kill. William Nylander has led Toronto with 25 goals, 40 assists, and 210 shots on goal. The projected starting goalie for Toronto is Ilya Samsonov, who is 9-4-6 this season with a 3.38 goals against average and a .879 save percentage.

Blues vs Maple Leafs Betting Prediction

Toronto has sputtered a little bit since the All-Star break, going 1-2 in three games, but they will be back at home for this one. The Maple Leafs are coming off of a loss to Ottawa, but they did beat Dallas in their last home game. St. Louis is one of the hottest teams in the NHL right now and they have been decent on the road, going 13-12-1 this year. The Blues offense has had some issues this season, but they have scored at least four goals in five of their last seven games. I think both teams are going to get their offense going and I like the over in this matchup.
