The Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers face off on Saturday in an NHL showdown at the Rogers Place.
What is Wrong With the Oilers?
The Oilers have really struggled this season and the biggest issue in the losses have been the defense. In the last game against the Flyers the Oilers scored only one goal and they are going to need to find a way to turn that around here. The Oilers on the season are averaging 2.75 goals per game while their defense is giving up 4.25 goals per game. The offense needs to find a way to turn it around because I’m not so sure the defense is going to be very good this season.
Jets Defense Looked Awful in Last Game
The Jets defense really struggled in the last against the Vegas Godlen Knights and they currently sit with a 1-3 record overall. The Jets gave up five goals and they need to get the defense to step up here in a big way. The Jets are averaging 3.25 goals while their defense is giving up 4.75 goals per game. The top player this season for the Jets has been Mark Schefiele and he has scored three goals and added two assists.
Shane’s Free Pick
This total is too low. The Jets are going to have no issue running up the score against the Oilers defense. I do expect the OIlers offense is going to have no issue running up the score and that is going to be the difference as this game is going to end up being higher scoring. I expect eight or nine goals are going to be scored here. Back the over to cash.
