Pick

The Devils had a great regular season last year and they found a little bit of success in the postseason, but they will look to make a deeper run in the playoffs this year. Detroit continued their postseason drought last year, but did make a good amount of moves in the off-season. I think the Red Wings will be better than they were last year, but the Atlantic is going to be very tough this year. The first game of the year is never easy for either team, but I am going to take Detroit to keep this one close. I think the Wings made enough moves to improve in the off-season, so I am taking them +1.5 here.

David’s Pick Red Wings +1.5
