It’s a light slate of games across the NHL with only four games taking place on Wednesday but there is still value across the board. Let’s take a look at a free pick on each of the four NHL games.
Philadelphia Flyers +125 at New Jersey Devils -145 Total: 6
The Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils are both teams who don’t have very strong offenses. The Flyers are averaging 2.44 goals per game while the Devils are averaging 2.87 goals per game. In the last game, the Devils only scored two goals and their lack of scoring is going to let them down in this game. This is going to be a team where both teams struggle to get good scoring chances and the under will cash.
Colorado Avalanche at New York Rangers
The Colorado Avalanche and New York Rangers have both been playing some very good hockey coming into this game. The Avalanche lost their last game, but in the previous five games they had scored at least four goals, and in four of those games they scored at least six games. The Rangers offense has also scored at least four goals in three of the last four games. There will be no shortage of scoring in this game, and the over is going to cash.
Dallas Stars +120 at Vegas Golden Knights -141 Total: 5.5
These are two teams that play different styles of hockey. Vegas leans more on their offense while Dallas leans more on their defense. At home this season, Vegas has been strong sitting with an 8-5 record. Dallas away from home only has a 4-5 record, and they aren’t going to get any offense going in this game. The Stars are averaging only 2.86 goals per game, and that won’t be enough as the Golden Knights win this game.

Boston Bruins -150 at Vancouver Canucks +130 Total: 5.5
The Vancouver Canucks are going to pull the upset in this game. The Canucks have responded well to new coach Bruce Boudreau and in the last game against the Los Angeles Kings, they won 4-0. For a team that has struggled to score most of the season, the offense looked good in the last game. The Bruins are only averaging only 2.857 goals per game and their lack of scoring is going to let them down. Back the Canucks on the money line.
