It’s a lighter slate of games across the NHL on Sunday but there is still plenty of value with seven games taking place. Let’s take a look at a free pick on each of the games.

Minnesota Wild +130 at Tampa Bay Lightning -149 Total: 5.5

The Minnesota Wild and Tampa Bay Lightning both played tough games on Saturday night where their defenses both struggled. Even on tired legs, I expect both offenses are going to have success. The over is 6-1 in Wild last 7 in the third game of a 3-in-4 days situation.Back the over to cash.

Play: Over 5.5

Buffalo Sabres +190 at New York Rangers -222 Total: 5.5

The New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres both have offenses that I don’t trust. The Rangers are averaging only 2.64 goals per game which is 24th ranked in the NHL. Look for very few scoring chances for either team and the under will cash.

Play: Under 5.5

Calgary Flames +145 at Boston Bruins -169 Total: 5.5

The Flames defense has been elite giving up only two goals per game which is 1st in the NHL. The Bruins have found success at home, but I don’t trust them to find a ton of offensive success against the Flames defense. Look for a lower scoring game that stays under the total.

Play: Under 5.5

Toronto Maple Leafs +100 at New York Islanders -120 Total: 5.5

Last season the Toronto Maple Leafs were known for their offense, but that isn’t the case this season. The Maple Leafs offense is ranked 23rd while their defense is ranked 4th. The Islanders offense also isn’t great averaging 2.23 goals per game which is 30th in the league. Look for a lower scoring game with the under cashing.

Play: Under 5.5

Chicago Blackhawks +115 at Vancouver Canucks -135 Total: 6

The Chicago Blackhawks have been playing better as of late winning four games in a row heading into their game on Saturday night. They have been getting better goaltending and that is going to be the case again in this game. Look for the Blackhawks to win this game on the money line.

Play: Blackhawks ML +115

Washington Capitals -130 at Seattle Kraken +110 Total: 5.5

The Capitals have played well to start the season while Seattle has really struggled. The Capitals offense has played really to start the season averaging 3.412 goals per game which is third best in the NHL. The Kraken don’t have the offense to stay in this game, and the Capitals will win this game.

Play: Capitals ML -130

Arizona Coyotes +180 at Los Angeles Kings -220 Total: 5.5

There are plenty of better options on the board to bet. That being said, there is no reason to bet on the Coyotes this season. They struggle to score and they also struggle to keep the puck out of the net. The Coyotes will struggle to score again in this game, and the Kings will win this game on the puck line.

Play: Kings -1.5

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a PickDawgz site consensus.
