It’s a full slate of NHL games on Tuesday with 12 games taking place and there is plenty of value across the board. Let’s take a look at a free pick on each of the NHL games.

Nashville Predators +160 at Toronto Maple Leafs -192 Total: 5.5

Both of these two teams have played good hockey coming into this game, and their defense has been a big reason why. In four of the last five games, the Predators have given up two goals or less. In two of the last three games, Toronto has given up two goals or less. Nashville is ranked seventh in terms of goals per game given up while Toronto is ranked ninth. Look for a low-scoring game that stays under the total.

Play: Under

New York Islanders at Florida Panthers

The Florida Panthers have been impressive to start the season and in this game, they are expected to have Sergei Bobrovsky in goal. He has been impressive this year sitting with a 6-0-1-1 record and he is giving up only 1.88 goals per game. The Islanders are averaging only 2.46 goals per game and they are going to struggle to score in this game. Back the Panthers.

Play: Panthers ML

Montreal Canadiens +140 at New York Rangers -161 Total: 5.5

The Montreal Canadiens and New York Rangers both have terrible offenses. Montreal is averaging only 2.12 goals per game, while the New York Rangers are averaging 2.73 goals per game. This is going to be a team where both teams struggle to score, and the under will cash.

Play: Under 5.5

Ottawa Senators +154 at New Jersey Devils -175 Total: 6

The Ottawa Senators defense is an issue, and they are going to have all kinds of issues in this game. Ottawa is giving up 3.46 goals per game which ranks 30th in the NHL. Look for the Devils to attack the terrible Senators defense, and that will be the difference in this game. Back the Devils on the puck line.

Play: Devils -1.5

Buffalo Sabres +198 at Pittsburgh Penguins -238 Total: 6

The Penguins shouldn’t be this big of favorite against anyone besides maybe the Arizona Coyotes right now. The Penguins' defense isn’t good giving up 3.28 goals per game. I don’t know if the Sabres will win the game, but they are going to keep it close. Back the Sabres on the puck line.

Play: Sabres +1.5

Calgary Flames -125 at Philadelphia Phillies +105 Total: 5.5

The Flames should be much bigger favorites in this game. The Flames offense is ranked 10th in the NFL while their defense is ranked second. The Flyers are averaging 2.77 goals per game and that offense isn’t going to get the job done. Back the Flames.

Play: Flames ML -125

San Jose Sharks +165 at Minnesota Wild -185 Total: 5.5

Don’t look now, but the Minnesota Wild currently sit in 1st place in the Central division. The Wild’s strength all season has been the scoring, averaging 3.36 goals per game. The Sharks offense is averaging only 2.79 goals per game, and their lack of scoring by the Sharks is going to let them down. Back the Wild on the puck line.

Play: Wild -1.5

Arizona Coyotes +240 at St. Louis Blues -303 Total: 5.5

The Arizona Coyotes are awful this year, and even with the Blues such big favorites, they have the value in this game. The Coyotes are averaging only 1.53 goals per game and their defense is giving up 3.93 goals per game. The Blues will score four or five goals, and they will win this game -2.5.

Play: Blues -2.5

Detroit Red Wings at Dallas Stars

The Stars struggle to score goals averaging only 2.39 goals per game and their lack of scoring is going to let them down. When a team can put a goal or two in early they shut down, and that’s exactly what the Red Wings will do to them in this game.

Play: Red Wings ML

Edmonton Oilers -115 at Winnipeg Jets -105 Total: 6

If you like scoring, make sure to tune into this game, because there will be plenty of that in this game. The Oilers are averaging 4.14 goals per game while the Jets are averaging 3.21 goals per game. This is going to be a high scoring game, with the over-cashing with ease.

Play: Over 6

Carolina Hurricanes -125 at Vegas Golden Knights +105 Total: 5.5

The Carolina Hurricanes are a team that looks like they can win the Stanley Cup. The Hurricanes are averaging 3.46 goals while their defense is giving up 1.92 goals per game. Vegas is going to really struggle to score in this game and the Hurricanes will cover the spread.

Play: Hurricanes ML -125

Washington Capitals -135 at Anaheim Ducks +115 Total: 6

The Capitals and Ducks game is another one that will be high-scoring. The Capitals are averaging 3.6 goals per game while the Ducks are averaging 3.56 goals per game. Both teams are going to score plenty and the over will cash.
