It’s a very light slate of games across the NHL on Monday with only three games taking place. Even though it’s a light slate, there is still plenty of value in the three games.
Florida Panthers at New York Rangers
The Florida Panthers come into this game with a 10-1 record overall and they have gone 8-3 on the puck line. The Rangers have been up and down so far this season sitting with a 6-6 record. The Panthers have the second-ranked offense while the Rangers are averaging 2.4 goals per game which is 27th in the NHL. The Panthers are the much better team, and the Rangers lack of offense is going to let them down. Look for the Panthers to score four or five goals, and for Florida to win this game on the puck line.
Play: Panthers -1.5
Buffalo Sabres +212 at Washington Capitals -249 Total: 5.5
I don’t love the number that has to be laid, but the Capitals are the play here. The Sabres are pretty much middle of the road in terms of goals scored and goals given up. The Capitals have one of the top offenses in the NHL averaging 3.37 goals per game. The Sabres defense has given up nine goals total over the last two games, and they aren’t going to magically find better defense in this game. Back the Capitals on the puck line.
Play: Capitals -1.5
Los Angeles Kings +212 at Toronto Maple Leafs: Total: 5.5
The Maple Leafs offense was a little better in the last game, but overall the offense hasn’t been great, averaging only 2.67 goals per game. Both of the defenses are also in the top half of the NHL, and although there might be plenty of shots on goal, this isn’t going to be a game that has a ton of scoring. Each of the last three games for the Kings has been a final score of 3-2 and I expect a max of five goals in this game. Back the under.
