NHL Picks and Predictions for 10/26/21 Free NHL Picks

Pick: Calgary Flames -110

Tampa Bay Lightning -140 Pittsburgh Penguins +120 Total: 6.5

This is a big rematch of the first game of the season between two teams that know each other very well. The Lighting were not strong defensively in that first meeting but I expect a different story here. I think this one stays under the total, especially with Andrei Vasilevskiy in net for Tampa Bay. 

Pick: Under 6.5

Vegas Golden Knights +145 Colorado Avalanche -170 Total: 6

The Golden Knights are off to their worst start in franchise history and a lot of that deals with the various injuries the team has suffered already this season. I think the Avalanche kick the Knights while they are down and beat Vegas rather easily.

San Jose Sharks +115 Nashville Predators -135 Total: 6

While I don't think the Sharks are a playoff team yet, I do really like the way San Jose has looked to start the season. I think we are getting great value with arguably the better team in this matchup, especially when you look at how the Preds' defense and goaltending have been very questionable to start the season. 

Pick: San Jose Sharks +115

Minnesota Wild -120 Vancouver Canucks +100 Total: 5.5

The Wild are the better team on both sides of the puck in this particular matchup, and only having to lay -120 on the road is a steal in my opinion. Minnesota is a team on the rise and even though this is Vancouver's home opener, I think the Wild spoil the night and find a victory. 

Pick: Minnesota Wild -120

Winnipeg Jets -145 Anaheim Ducks +125 Total: 5.5

It seems that these two teams have faced each other 20 times this season, but in this specific matchup, I like the Jets to win in regulation. The Ducks have been pesky on the year but Kyle Connor and the Winnipeg offense are starting to heat up and  I would not want to be in the Jets' way. 

Pick: Winnipeg Jets in Regulation +107

Montreal Canadiens -105 Seattle Kraken -115 Total: 5.5

This is an extremely low total for a Kraken game and for that reason, I think we have some value on the over. Seattle's defense and goaltending have not impressed me and I think both teams could score 3 or more goals in this matchup. I will take the over.
