We are in the final stretch of the NHL regular season and have six games on Thursday, May 6th, 2021’s docket. Here are the betting picks and odds for Thursday’s NHL games.
New Jersey Devils +210 New York Islanders -250 Total: 5.5
The Islanders were just taken down two times in a back-to-back with the worst team in the NHL in the Buffalo Sabres. Although I think the Islanders do find a way to win this game, I cannot take them at -250 and the puck-line is also not desirable. The Devils should keep this game close and within a goal.
Pick: New Jersey Devils +1.5
New York Rangers +165 Boston Bruins -190 Total: 5.5
The Rangers have to be disappointed with the events that took place this week, as they were eliminated from playoff contention and they did not like what the NHL did regarding the Tom Wilson issue. I think the Rangers will look for some revenge in this spot and I think they are a solid value play this late in the season.
Pick: New York Rangers +165
Buffalo Sabres +270 Pittsburgh Penguins -340 Total: 6
The Sabres played the role of spoiler against the Islanders this week and although I do not think they win this game outright, I think they at least keep this game rather close and perhaps force extra time. I like the Sabres and the +1.5 on the puck-line here.
Pick: Buffalo Sabres +1.5
Chicago Blackhawks +230 Carolina Hurricanes -280 Total: 6
Both teams know how to score and I think we see more of the same on Thursday night. In the last three games of this season series, these two teams have combined to score at least seven goals in all three. I like the over.
Pick: Over 6
Montreal Canadiens +165 Toronto Maple Leafs -190 Total: 5.5
I think the Canadiens playing on Wednesday night against the Senators on the road hurts their chances at taking down the Leafs on the road on Thursday. I think the Leafs have the rest and talent advantage here, so I like them to win this contest.
Pick: Toronto Maple Leafs -190
Vancouver Canucks +215 Edmonton Oilers -260 Total: 6
Connor McDavid is a man on a mission and the Oilers are playing good hockey. The Canucks are looking for this roller-coaster of a season to end, and I think the Oilers earn yet another comfortable victory over their North Division rivals.
Pick: Edmonton Oilers -1.5
