NHL Games on Wednesday April 28th
We’ve got some humpday hockey action on Wednesday April 28th, 2021 with a solid 7-game card. Let’s get some cash in your pocket as cold and hard as the ice these guys skate on! Don’t forget to grab your odds as well! Let’s take a look at the day’s action.
Vancouver Canucks -120 at Ottawa Senators +100 O/U: 5.5
5:30 PM EST
Pick: Ottawa Senators +100; I’m not sure what to make of this game, as the Canucks are easily the better team and are the only team really going places when the playoff action starts in a couple of weeks if they’re able to get Ws in winnable spots like these. However, the Senators play their best hockey at home and have gotten the netter of the Canucks in the last couple of meetings. The line also feels really funky, so I’ll take a shot with the Senators here.
St. Louis Blues +125 at Minnesota Wild -145 O/U: 5.5
7:00 PM EST
Pick: Minnesota Wild -145; I get why the plus money with the Blues would be worth a look in this spot, as the Blues are coming off of a pair of really good wins over Colorado. The problem for me is that the Wild have just been so good on home ice this season and while the Blues play better on the road, there’s just not a lot to like about this situation. The Blues are desperate and if this game was in St. Louis I’d lean Blues here. But in Minnesota, I have to go with the Wild.
Toronto Maple Leafs -141 vs. Montreal Canadiens +120 O/U: 6
8:00 PM EST
Pick: Toronto -141; Ahh two of the more polarizing teams in the NHL meet in the NHL’s premier rivalry. The issue for me here is that the Canadiens just haven’t been scoring enough to keep pace with opposing teams or a team with Toronto’s offensive firepower. The Leafs have been streaky and the Canadiens and Senators always seem to get up for this game, but I think the Leafs pull it off here.
Edmonton Oilers -115 at Winnipeg Jets -105 O/U: 6
9:00 PM EST
Pick: Edmonton Oilers -115; The Jets have bee one of the more consistent teams in the NHL all season long, but realistically, they’ve done their best work on the road and just haven’t been all that convincing as of late. Edmonton continues to light it up and when you have a generational player like Connor McDavid in your lineup, he’s going to give you the best chance to win most nights. I’ll side with the Oilers in this one.
Colorado Avalanche +105 at Vegas Golden Knights -125 O/U: 5.5
9:30 PM EST
Pick: Vegas -125; It’s not often you’re going to get one of the league’s best in Colorado at plus money. The problem is that you’re also not going to get a Vegas team that’s one of the best home teams in the NHL since their inception a few years ago, with a low line of their own at home. I think that Vegas is up against it here, but I think the Golden Knights get it done here.
Anaheim Ducks +140 at Los Angeles Kings -160 O/U: 5.5
10:00 PM EST
PickL Anaheim +140; Neither of these are teams I really want to get behind late in the season when neither has anything to play for. However, I’m not laying -160 with the Kings on the ML when this is a rivalry game to begin with and the Ducks have a history of playing stronger on the road as it is. I think the Ducks steal one against the rival Kings, so give me Anaheim and the plus money in this one.
Arizona Coyotes -110 at San Jose Sharks -110 O/U: 5.5
10:30 PM EST
Pick: Arizona -110, It’s almost do or die time for the Coyotes, who just lost to the Sharks to snap San Jose’s 8-game losing streak. So why would I go back to Arizona here? Well they’re a better team than what we saw on Monday and realistically, the Coyotes need any wins they can get if they’re going to have any hope at a playoff spot. I’ll take my chances with Arizona in a bounce back here.
